Well, due to my business due to finals, I ended up falling behind a bit with the shows i’ve been following this season… but this gives me an opportunity to play a bit of catch-up! yeah!
Well, the end of the conflict with Nodoka seems to have played out nicely. Honestly, this was just the episode I needed after everything that’s happened, a real emotional kicker that tugs right at your heartstrings, and doesn’t show any signs of letting go. Mai and Nodoka, having fought and been in conflict for so long, suddenly realize they aren’t so different, after all.
I really enjoyed the directing in this episode. Seeing the slow burn of Nodoka realizing just how hard her sister works every day, as well as seeing how much Mai truly cares about her little sister was very touching. As for the secret of what was in the cabinet… well, it was both far simpler, and far more wonderful than i’d imagined it would be.
This show just continues to do things correctly. Even as Nodoka’s arc is still going, but drawing to a close, we see threads for other stories and characters being pulled in and woven along into this beautiful tapestry of a story. I know i’m not alone in saying that the direction of this show so far has just been incredible, and I hope it finishes just as strongly.
Anyways, that’s all I’ve got to say about this episode, at least in the interests of keeping things short. I hope everyone else is as excited as I am to see where this wonderful, beautiful show is headed, and i’ll see you all in the next post!
