Well, we’ve made it past the 3-episode mark for this show, and after watching this 4th episode, I can tell you that I really do think this is going to be a fantastic show (though I was actually worried for a bit there…) It’s doing a lot of things right, and I really, really love the characters we’ve met so far.
Honestly, I was really, really worried for about half of this episode. They did come up with what seemed a very convenient excuse to get Mai out of the story for a while, and I was really worried they were going to use it to sideline her while the new girl took the spotlight. Words cannot describe the relief I felt when she showed back up near the end of the episode. But, it does look like Mai will be sticking around, which makes me very, very happy.
I was also super worried about the potential developments based on a repeating timeline… after all, that specific thing is what ruined Haruhi for me. Thankfully, it only lasted about a third of the episode, instead of most of a full season… The brevity of it worked out pretty well for me. Though I do have a sneaking suspicion we’re not done with this whole kerfuffle quite yet…
I’m not entirely sure what to think about Tomoe yet, honestly. On one hand, she seems like a pretty fun character, and I can’t wait to get some interactions between her and Mai, not to mention learn more about the root cause of her “Laplace’s Demon”. On the other hand… gurl you better step away from my ship right now or you gunna get hurt!
Just kidding… probably. Anyways, this show is just buckets of fun. It hasn’t made any kind of super intense emotional impact for me, at least not yet, but it’s still an awesome show that looks, sounds, and feels great. Now it’s your turn! Let me know what you guys are thinking of the show so far down in the comments! Thanks for reading, and i’ll see you all in the next post!
