The Master of Ragnarok & Blesser of Einherjar. These Light Novel titles just keep getting longer, don’t they? I mean, this is basically a sentence at this point… though there has been worse. I’ve read the first volume of this Light Novel. Haven’t bothered picking up any of the following volumes, though, as it just didn’t interest me that much.
Honestly, the story’s about as generic as these things get. Guy gets sucked into a fantasy world, and quickly starts to assemble a harem of girls who all desperately want to be in his bed, for some reason. Except, this time, they all call him onii-chan, or daddy. Not sure what’s worse, to be honest.

The whole first episode just reeks of AVERAGENESS. At times the art looks good, the character models are awfully sparkly… but then you get this CG that is so stiff and clunky it makes Berserk 2016 look good. Scratch that, nothing can make Berserk 2016 look good. Anyways, the story is mediocre, the visuals are good sometimes and awful at other times, the story is cliche and kind of dull… and the pacing is not helping, considering about half of the first volume of the novel was covered in just the first episode.
Redeeming factors… I guess the world setting is decently unique. It’s a concept that hasn’t really been explored much before, what with the whole tribal chalice system and all. However, I believe the execution could be far better… And really, the subpar audio track doesn’t really help, either.

Anyways, I think that’s enough bashing on the show. It’s got its good points, and is better than Seven Senses of the Re’union, at least… but I think i’ll still leave this one alone this season. How are you guys enjoying this show, if you’ve seen it? Are you liking it more than I am, or do you have the same concerns? Let me know down in the comments, and i’ll see you all in the next post!
It could be better, but I’m actually not minding it. At the very least, I’m curious as to where they go with the story even if I’m not exactly jumping up and down to sing the show’s praises (and the animation quality remains questionable in more or less every episode so far). This is one of those shows that in a season where I had more on my line up I probably would have put on hold for future binge watching, but this season I’m just sticking with it, enjoying what it is, and I’ll probably forget about it once its done.
