I heard very, VERY good things about this series before the season began, so I thought i’d give it a look see for myself. What I can definitely say already, is that it may just end up being the best of the season… and I haven’t even touched many other shows yet! It’s just that good, right from the get-go. But i’ll explain my reasoning.

First, the concept. The idea of creating characters out of strange things is not an original idea, but making a whole world out of the interior of the human body, the characters being the cells, is pretty darn original, in my opinion. The main characters themselves are nice, unique and interesting to watch on screen. And the relationship between the red blood cell and white blood cell is, in my opinion, just adorable!
Let’s not forget about the best part of the show, however. Which is obviously… the platelets!!! They are just the cutest things!!! I could watch the show just to see the platelets be cute; they’re that great.
The music is nice, the OP is pretty good, and visually, it looks great. There’s also some pretty sick action scenes in the show too, somewhat unexpectedly. Going in, I was expecting something more along the lines of a slice-of-life show. What I got instead is more like an action comedy with a minor in biology. Which is not a bad thing…
Speaking of Biology, this is also a show that teaches. It explains what each cell’s function is in the body, how they work to uphold the ecosystem in the body, and how they work together to accomplish enormous tasks. The best part about this is, it never feels grating or shoehorned into the plot. I enjoyed the little infographics, and I feel like this show could realistically be used in school classrooms to help teach kids about the body in a fun way. Although the amount of blood might make that a bit hard to push through…

Anyways, i’m really enjoying the show. Looking forward to more of it in the rest of the season, and I hope you guys are, as well, because it’s just so good. Who else is watching this show this season? Are you finding it as uniquely fun and entertaining as I am? If you’re not watching it currently… I HIGHLY suggest making it part of your seasonal watchlist. Anyways, thank you all for reading, I hope you’re enjoying the summer season so far, and i’ll see you all in the next post!!
The first episodes of this were pretty entertaining. I know a few of us are worried about whether it can remain that compelling for a whole season, and episode 3 kind of made that worry a bit more real, but this is still one of the stand outs of the season at this point.

I think there’s enough good material in this show to remain entertaining enough to watch for a whole season. But it could always go south… only time will tell, I suppose.

I had not expected this being such a fun show, but like you I heard so many good things about it that I started watching it, and I am really glad I did. It’s a really fun show and totally unexpected as well. I do share Karandi’s worries if they are going to keep this interesting until the end of the season, but as long as they keep the platelets in I’m game 😊

Nothing wrong with a monster of the day show!

Never said it wasn’t, just pointing out how the trend is going so far and how possible future episodes will be constructed around this.
