Hello my lovely readers! Thank you all for being so patient with me over the past few weeks, my life has been ridiculously busy and I haven’t had time to write on my blog nearly as much as i’d like to. With family birthdays (including mine), and my best friend’s wedding, it’s truly been a very very busy time for me.
Unfortunately, due to the business of my schedule, I actually missed my blog’s Blogiversary! My first post on this blog was on June 2nd, 2017. That one post started this whole chaotic mess that I call a blog, and, well, one year later, it’s ended up as you guys see it now. I thought i’d take some time to look at some stats from my blog from the last year, and see what i’ve learned. Let’s start with the simple yearly statistics.
As you guys can see, in 2017, I wrote a total of 270 posts over about a 7-month period, from June through December. That’s about 1.3 posts per day, on average. in contrast, over a 5-month period, i’ve written only 86 posts in 2018, which averages out at around 0.57 posts a day. So, while I was posting very consistently in 2018, especially in the months of beginning my blog, it seems i’ve been slacking off quite a bit.
However, in 2018, i’ve averaged 4.3 comments per post (as opposed to 1.1 in 2017), 14.8 likes per post (as opposed to 4.6 in 2017), and my wordcount per post is almost double what it was in 2017, at 785.6 words per post, as opposed to 355.8. I believe this goes to show that, while I haven’t output as many posts this year, the quality of my writing has improved drastically, as I take more time to write each post, flesh it out, and encourage reader feedback.
Here’s another chart that shows really well how my posting schedules and habits have changed over the course of the past year. We’re only seeing June of this year, not last year, though, so it’s a bit blank so far.
I don’t really have a set posting schedule with the blog, though I do try to post at least twice a week, even when i’m busy, and I feel i’ve done a pretty good job sticking to that so far… though i’m not perfect. I’ve been really trying this year to, instead of writing about anything and everything to fill posting slots, to really put thought and passion into everything I write, because I feel like that’s what’s the most interesting for readers.
Speaking of whom…
Here’s where my current follower count stands! 172 WordPress followers, and one Email follower. Social followers I believe is tied to my Twitter account, so there’s a fair amount of overlap there, I think. 172 followers in just one year is pretty awesome growth, in my opinion!
I wish to extend a big thank-you to all my followers. Thank you for believing in me, for showing your support of my blog, and for all the awesome comments and discussions i’ve seen on my blog, especially this year! I hope to have another great year of Blogging, Anime, and meeting new, awesome people like you guys!
Happy blogiversary, and happy actual birthday too, even if it’s a little late!
