December is such a busy month, guys. So much to do, so little time to get it all done in, it always seems. I thought i’d be able to fully catch up on all the shows i’m following this week, but was unfortunately unable to accomplish that. I did manage to do some catching up, however, and I greatly enjoyed many of the episodes this month.
Best of the Best:
Land of the Lustrous (Episode 9): What has happened to my dear Phos? It’s like she’s a totally different person now! This show has started seriously breaking my heart every week, and it’s probably my favorite show this season.
RWBY Season 5 (Episode 8): Every week brings new challenges, new developments, and new trials to our dear characters. The pacing is just perfect, and while I can sit and wish for longer episodes all day long, i’ll instead just enjoy what we have, because it’s amazing.
Girls’ Last Tour (Episode 9): Episode 9 might be my favorite episode of Girl’s Last Tour, closely tied with the episode about the rain. This is a show that is relaxing and enjoyable, but at the same time, can cause you to have an existential crisis with the deep narrative and beautiful plot. Amazing.
Ancient Magus’ Bride (Episode 9): I’m still very curious to know the answers to the mysteries surrounding Elias. Who/what is he, and what are his motivations? The visuals are positively magical, and the story is something to behold.
A Very Nice Watch:
Kino’s Journey (Episode 8): While Kino’s Journey started out on the top of my list, the show has gone downhill pretty quickly. I’m not entirely sure exactly what’s wrong, but the bouncing from character to character certainly doesn’t help.
Inuyashiki Last Hero (Episode 4)
Recovery of an MMO Junkie (Episode 9): Good visuals, interesting characters, and a plot that, even through ridiculous coincidences, has actually kept moving forward, has broken free of my previous preconception that it might end up as a sort of Gamers! de-ja-vu.
BLEND-S (Episode 8): It’s a trap! Run! Flee for the hills! …In all seriousness, this show has probably gotten the most laughs out of me this season. The humor is totally on-point, all the time. It’s a great show.
These are OK, I guess:
Anime-Gataris (Episode 6)
UQ Holder (Episode 3)
A Sister’s All You Need (Episode 5)
Konohana Kitan (Episode 4)
Juni Taisen Zodiac War (Episode 9): It hurts. It seriously hurts to watch. It’s like watching an artisan milkshake being poured down the sink. So much potential, right down the drain.
Black Clover (Episode 9): I’m seeing a lot of disparaging about Black Clover, still. And you know what? Even though it’s by no means a terribly good show, I don’t feel like i’ll be dropping it anytime soon. Call me an oddball, but i’m gonna stick with it.
TwoCar (Episode 3)
Dies Irae (Episode 3)
My Girlfriend is a Shobitch (Episode 3)
King’s Game (Episode 4)
Sengoku Night Blood (Episode 1)
Urahara (Episode 3)
Evil or Live (Episode 3)
