I managed to get a bunch of stuff done this week, guys! Though, unfortunately, not as much as I was hoping to get done, but then again, that rarely ever happens. This Anime season has been absolutely kicking my butt, there are so many awesome shows that i’m following voraciously, and some others that are still pretty good. Unfortunately, that does mean that, sometimes, some shows will take priority over others, even when i’m behind on those “others”.
Best of the Best:
Land of the Lustrous (Episode 8): Good heavens, what an emotional roller coaster these last few episodes have been. With the coming of winter and the meeting of the lovely Antarcticite, things seem to be going well for Phos, but… the harsh winter seems to have other plans in store. I’m still loving this show, and it might actually be my favorite of the season.
RWBY Season 5 (Episode 7): Some consider RWBY an Anime, and some do not. I’m watching it because I enjoy the show, it’s a great story with well-written characters and a detailed world, not to mention great visuals and music. The story is growing so fascinating, I can never wait to find out what happens next.
Girls’ Last Tour (Episode 8): All the way caught up to this one, now. This is a show that, along the same vein of Mushi-shi, is very relaxing, but also thought-provoking. I can’t wait for more of the show, and i’ll probably be writing a feature on it shortly.
Ancient Magus’ Bride (Episode 8): Ancient Magus’ Bride is still a show that is, for the most part, shrouded in mystery. What are Elias’ true intentions? Is Chise going to be OK? Can we learn more about magic, fairies, and the strangeness of the world? I sincerely hope so.
Kino’s Journey (Episode 6)
A Very Nice Watch:
Inuyashiki Last Hero (Episode 4)
Recovery of an MMO Junkie (Episode 8): FINALLY! The characters actually sit down and talk things out. All the cards are on the table, now, between Morimori and Sakura, now we get to wait another week to find out how they deal with this revelation!!!
BLEND-S (Episode 7): It’s an adorable barrel of laughs. We’ve got a new character on the way, who seems like she could add some extra dynamic to the shop. Maika is still struggling with the difference between her “character” and her ideal of character service, though. Poor gal.
These are OK, I guess:
Anime-Gataris (Episode 6)
UQ Holder (Episode 3): I’m triggered. On one hand, UQ Holder is doing a somewhat better job at being a good Shonen than Black Clover, but… As a reader of the Manga, it bothers me that they’ve started straying from the original story so early on. It’s already a good story, I don’t see any reason it needed to be altered.
A Sister’s All You Need (Episode 5)
Konohana Kitan (Episode 4)
Juni Taisen Zodiac War (Episode 8): WHY DOES THIS EXIST? If ever there were a show this season with some sort of weird multi-personality disorder, it’s this one. So many good things overshadowed by even more bad things, making a show that could have been good, very mediocre, at best.
Black Clover (Episode 8): You know what? I was on the cusp of dropping this show, but this new girl has brought it back to life for me. Asta is still annoying, but she’s cute and funny enough to make the show at least bearable. I like her.
TwoCar (Episode 3)
Dies Irae (Episode 3)
My Girlfriend is a Shobitch (Episode 3)
King’s Game (Episode 4)
Sengoku Night Blood (Episode 1)
Urahara (Episode 3)
Evil or Live (Episode 3)
