First, i’d like to apologize for the late post. My home’s internet service provider’s network has been down for 3 days now, and is still down, so I haven’t been able to watch, or write, much of anything. Fall 2017 is still my favorite season of the year, by far. There are a number of absolutely incredible shows, as well as a significant quantity of quality shows, as well. Here’s my most updated watchlist:
Best of the Best:
RWBY Season 5 (Episode 5): If you’re looking for a dark, well-written show with interesting characters, good humor, amazing action, and an intriguing story, look no further. RWBY has, again and again, blown my expectations out of the water, and this season is no different.
Girls’ Last Tour (Episode 5): What an absolute masterpiece this show is. There are so many things that make it utterly amazing to watch, including the visuals, but what really stands out is the way it is able to tell so many stories beyond just the words. This is what visual storytelling is meant to be.
Ancient Magus’ Bride (Episode 6): As my most anticipated show of the season, Ancient Magus’ Bride is no disappointment. The crisp, clean art and animation is an absolute joy to watch, and the story is incredibly engaging. I hope we get a lot more of this show, because it’s one of my favorites this season.
Kino’s Journey (Episode 6): Kino’s Journey has, unfortunately, taken a bit of a down-slide in my estimations, the last few episodes just haven’t felt nearly as good as the first few did. Maybe it’ll improve again, maybe not… I guess we’ll have to see.
A Very Nice Watch:
Inuyashiki Last Hero (Episode 4): Oooh boy, here’s a show that’s interesting and unique in it’s own way. It continues to improve, and might be able to jump rankings to the top-tier shows. It’s one of the most interesting shows that i’ve seen that deals with what might happen when someone is given incredible power, but might not have good intentions.
Land of the Lustrous (Episode 5): Absolutely, 100%, this is the prettiest show this season. The colors, landscapes, pretty much everything is just an absolute treat to look at. It’s not all just looks, though. The story is getting more and more interesting with every episode, and I just adore Phos. She’s lovely.
Recovery of an MMO Junkie (Episode 6): I’m starting to feel Gamers! levels of dickery about to happen with this show. Why are the characters all so dumb? Why can’t they just resolve their confusions and all be happy? I guess, though, that makes the show more interesting to watch, right?
BLEND-S (Episode 6): Blend-S is a great comedy show. Every episode, it comes out with more wild and silly ways to make me laugh, while also telling a relatively congruous story. it’s just all-around fun and adorable.
These are OK, I guess:
Anime-Gataris (Episode 5): This show was really, super good for the first 3 episodes, but it’s not quite as good as it was, anymore. Which is really sad, because I had high hopes for it. Maybe Episode 6 will bring it back?
UQ Holder (Episode 2): I haven’t had time to catch up to this one yet, but i’m still quite excited that UQ Holder is getting an Anime. I’ll get back to y’all next week with my thoughts after fully catching up.
A Sister’s All You Need (Episode 3): This is actually turning out to be quite a bit better than I thought. It still seems very much like a spiritual successor to Eromanga-Sensei, though, and I’m not sure how I feel about that. It’s definitely more solid, but the pervy jokes are as prevalent as ever… maybe even worse
Konohana Kitan (Episode 4): The adorable, cotton-candy fluff of the season. it’s cute, and relaxing… and also, kinda boring? It’s not a bad show, but I do kind of wish there was a bit more substance to it.
Juni Taisen Zodiac War (Episode 6): Can we get less exposition, more action please? I’m not one to hate on expositional shows, but when you’ve got an action show where each episode is filled with 18 minutes of flashbacks, 3 minutes of action, that’s really a big problem. Who decided this was a good idea?
Black Clover (Episode 6): I have a headache. Literally. I can’t get Asta’s voice out of my head. I think he may actually be the most obnoxious character i’ve ever seen in any Anime ever. I can’t deal with it. I really can’t.
TwoCar (Episode 3): I feel bad about this, but I guess Sports shows just aren’t my thing. It wasn’t evolving in a way that I was particularly interested in, and due to my own time constraints, I decided to drop this one.
Dies Irae (Episode 3)
My Girlfriend is a Shobitch (Episode 3)
King’s Game (Episode 4)
Sengoku Night Blood (Episode 1)
Urahara (Episode 3)
Evil or Live (Episode 3)
