Welcome back to the 100 Day Anime Challenge; it’s Day 81 and our question today is: What is your favorite episode of Anime? Glancing back to yesterday, this is another very hard question, and while i’d like to use yesterday’s answer here, too, that would be lazy. Episode 23 of Steins;Gate takes the crown this time, and here’s why.
Episode 23 of Steins;Gate is another episode that i’d rate as being above pure perfection. The utter sincerity of emotion displayed by Okabe as he agonizes over the consequences of his actions; realizing that it’s his fault things turned out the way they did, and desperately trying to fix what he broke. Through some help from his friends, Okabe is able to regain his confidence, returning once more to his mad scientist persona, and setting himself on a course to fix the world.
Coming from one of my favorite series, this episode was a masterpiece. Honorable mentions for this are: Episode 10 of Madoka Magika, The final episode of Cowboy Bebop, the final episode of Angel Beats, and several more, too many to list.
