Seriously, this show just keeps getting better. Reg and Riko are preparing for an expedition into the deepest depths of the Abyss, and though Shiggy is supportive, Nat is extremely against it. We learn a lot more about the structure of the Abyss as well, the different areas, levels, and depths that have been explored. But unfortunately, when the kids are planning their trip, things don’t go totally smoothly. After all, rarely anything does.
Nat, unable to bear the stress of a friend going into such a dangerous place, snaps and says some terrible things to Riko, including telling her that her mother is probably dead. Though he instantly regrets it, what is said is said, and a divide forms bewteen the kids. However, Riko is determined, and after saying their final goodbyes to everyone, Reg and Riko head into the darkness of the Abyss.
This show is doing so many good things. With a lively and loveable cast, beautiful art, an extremely complex and detailed world, and so much more going for it, this might just be my favorite show of the season. I’m super excited to see where the story goes from here, and I’m very curious to learn more about the Abyss, and the mysteries of the relics, the praying skeletons, and everything else. If you’re not watching this show, I highly suggest you pick it up.
Made in Abyss airs on Fridays, and is available on AnimeStrike.
