If you enjoy fantasy-type slice of life shows, or just cute animal girls, then you’ll probably enjoy A Centaur’s Life. Set in a somewhat dystopian world in an alternate timeline where ‘Humans’ have evolved differently, the story mainly follows Kimihara Himeno “Hime”, a beautiful centaur girl, and her friends Nozomi, a draconid, and Kyoko, a goatfolk. Other than everyone being what we might consider a demi-human, it’s basically your run-of-the-mill slice-of-life show.
The first episode literally starts with Hime and Nozomi kissing. We find out that this is due to the scheming of a male classmate who had tried to set himself up to play the prince to Hime’s princess in their class play, but failed. The play itself only last until about 10 minutes into the episode, after which we’re treated to a bunch of exposition about the world, and a few little scenes of mundane, girly chitchat between Nozomi, Hime, and Kyoko.
The art is a bit iffy, sometimes it looks very good, other times it looks kinda sloppy. Overall it seems like a relatively average addition to the slice-of-life genre. I can’t say anything for sure, as we’re only 1 episode in, but as of now, I don’t see anything great coming from this show. But i’ll probably keep watching it anyways.
New episodes release on Sundays, and this show can be watched on Crunchyroll.
